It is absolutely essential that our residents receive the right medication at the right time in the right dosage.

To enable us to fulfil this need we have introduced the Boots and iCareHealth eMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Record) computer controlled system. It is a simple process. Prescriptions are sent directly from the local doctor's surgery to our local Boots Pharmacy, they are then delivered to the Red House, scanned in with bar code scanners and physically checked against the prescriptions and hand counted. They are then dispensed on the medication rounds using a touchscreen device, that provides all the information regarding the medication, the resident and all necessary and pertinant information that is required for the Senior on duty. This information is available to the Manager and Assistant Manager if any issues occur outside of normal working hours.

Please visit this link to find out more information on how this system works.

If you visit us please ask any of the senior care staff to show you how this new system works.

We have found that this system has halved the time it used to take for our senior staff to attend to the medication rounds. Any member of the senior staff will tell you how much time has been saved and more importantly it now frees up their time to attend to the personal needs of our residents.
